Roblox is set to host a launch party for American Pop Band Why Don’t We’s second album, The Good Times and the Bad Ones, on its platform this weekend.

“At its roots music is a form of communication, a way to connect people, and something artists have missed this past year due to the pandemic,” said Jon Vlassopulos, Roblox vp and global head of music. “We are focused on creating these types of immersive, rich experiences in the Roblox Metaverse and are exciting to bring the Roblox community the chance to connect with Why Don’t We and enjoy this exclusive show together with friends.”

A Roblox launch party is a featured space created in partnership with the game developer that includes fun games and quests, virtual band merchandise for avatars, places to hang with friends and an in-game performance by the band itself.

“Having spent so many hours on Roblox, it’s awesome that we get to connect with our fans in this community we know so well,” said Zach Herron, singer in Why Don’t We. “While we’ve missed being on tour and interacting with our fans all over the world, being able to connect in this way is bringing fandom to a whole new level.”

Previous artists who have enjoyed launch parties on Roblox’s platform include Ava Max, who had nearly 1.2 million people attend her in-game concert in September, and Lil Nas X, who racked up more than 33 million attendees to his in-game event in November.

Friday, March 5 at 4 p.m. PT

Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m. PT

Saturday, March 6 at 9 p.m. PT

Sunday, March 7 at 9 a.m. PT
